About Me
Hey there, my name is Justin! I am Software Developer who is passionate about using technology to solve problems.
I began my journey into Software Development in 2013 when I became interested in creating mods for Minecraft. I watched a few YouTube tutorials about Java programming and the rest is history!
After graduating from Penn State University, I began my professional career as a Full-Stack Developer at Vanguard. In just a few short years, I have had the opportunity to learn and grow tremendously as a Software developer.

Experience
Senior Application Engineer
The Vanguard Group (November 2021 - Present)
- Continue to support development and ownership of several applications that are used by thousands of users daily to open new investment accounts.
- Leverage technical space knowledge and experience to onboard and mentor new developers to the team.
- Dedicated free time outside of normal work hours to improve web application deployment time by 26% (from 47 minutes to 35 minutes).
Application Engineer II
The Vanguard Group (December 2019 - November 2021)
- Continued to support development and ownership of my team's web application.
- Had an active hand the development of and ongoing support for a number of applications and web services leveraged by multiple teams in my department.
- Supported the work needed to deploy these applications and web services to production. As well as handling on-call production support for these projects.
Application Engineer I
The Vanguard Group (July 2018 - December 2019)
- Was actively involved the development of a modern web application to replace a legacy experience, all the way from ZBD to MVP.
- Actively worked on the front-end and back-end development of this new web application.
- Became an expert with the experimentation tool used by our team and took charge on the development of a number of A/B and A/B/C experiments for the application.
Software Engineer Intern
G3 Technologies, Inc. (May 2017 - July 2017)
- Wrote and maintained unit test code for automating website functionality, startup files and web console tests.
- Helped to resolve defects that were discovered during the execution of these automated tests.
- Contributed to an automated testing system developed with Python across five different products.
- Participated in frequent code reviews and received trainings on software development best practices.
Projects
Cookie Cloner
This is a simple clone of the popular web game, Cookie Clicker. This was a fun little project shared between myself and two other developers. The website was built using Angular.
